Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has today been given an official welcome to Azerbaijan, APA reports quoting AzerTAc.

A guard of honor was lined up for the Georgian President at the square decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

President Mikheil Saakashvili was welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Heads of State inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honor as an orchestra played the national anthems of Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani state and government officials were introduced to President Mikheil Saakashvili, while members of the Georgian delegation to President Ilham Aliyev.

The presidents posed for photographs.

Following the welcome ceremony, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia met in private.

During the meeting, the Presidents expressed satisfaction with development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in a variety of fields.

The presidents stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits. They added these visits contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation even more.

The two leaders expressed confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia would continue to develop.

They also discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.
