ATAA Remembers Victims of Armenian Terrorism
On this day…
August 5, 1980 – Lyons, France: Two Armenian gunmen storm the Turkish Consulate General and demand the location of the Consul General. When the Turkish doorman does not answer, the gunmen kill him, then open fire in the waiting lounge, killing one and wounding 11 visitors. ASALA (Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia) claims responsibility.
ATAA condemns these acts of violence against innocent individuals and remembers these tragedies with great sorrow.
