Iranian police attacked protesters in Germi, a small town in eastern part of Azerbaijan. They were angry of facing a visible fraud over their votes. Police used tear gas and even they use to beat people. Some reportadly were arrested.

It was announced that the candidate, Mirqesmat Musavi, who was popular has won the election, however, after half an hour, Mr. Ahmadi a body from the government arrive at the city council and announces another person’s win. Vali Esmaili, the new winner is responsible for attacks on May 2006 in Ardabil.

In May 2006 people in more than 30 cities of Azerbaijan were protesting the insult of Iranian official paper, calling Turks cockroaches. In than time several people killed and many injured. Thousands were arrested and held in bad condition, tortured and charged out of the law.

This video is from Melikan people (Malikan which is another city in eastern Azerbaijan) in Tabriz. People are against frauds and unacceptable changes on the result of yesterday’s election.

Azerbaijan had the least voters in Iran. Regarding report from Iranian officials, the rate was below 50% however Azerbaijani sources say that the rate was even below 20%. This will make the government toughen its measures to put more pressure on Azerbaijan, even worse than planed discrimination as before.
