World South Azerbaijani Turks’ 1st forum kicks off in Ankara

The first forum of World South Azerbaijani Turks, which had been planned to hold in Ankara today, was not allowed holding in the beforehand announced address, head of Organization Committee of Forum, chairman of Azerbaijan Culture Centre Jamal Mammadkhanoglu told APA.
He noted that, while it was beforehand got allowance on holding of the forum in Surmeli hotel, Ankara governorship sent a letter to organizers about postponement of event. He connected this with the problems, which could be created problems in organization of security.
Mammadkhanoglu said that, it was impossible to hold the event in the hotel after this letter: “But, World South Azerbaijani Turks’ 1st forum was not delayed. We have started the forum. 237 persons are attending the forum, speeches also have been madeâ€.
According to him, the event is being held in Dogal Residans Hotel. Deputies of Milli Majlis Sabir Rustamkhanli, Faraj Guliyev, people’s Artist Flora Karimova and other well-known persons are participating in the forum.
Forum will be finished today.
He noted that, forum would discuss establishment of South Azerbaijan National Council.
According to Mammadkhanoglu, after forum, the organizers will bring an action against Ankara governorship.
Surmeli hotel did not give explanation about postponement of event.
According to Ankara Police Department’s security section, they received the letter, which organizers sent to Ankara governorship, to investigate: “Taking impossibility of providence of security at the noted time into account, the forum was not allowedâ€.
