Turkish energy firms to seek business opportunities in Syria

. Executives of Turkish energy companies will hold talks in Syria in mid-March in order to get share from the power plant tenders to be held in the country.

A group of Turkish businessmen and executives of Turkey’s leading energy firms, led by the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s head Hasan Koktas, will attend the “Turkey-Syria International Energy Arena”


Executives of Turkish energy companies will hold talks in Syria in mid-March in order to get share from the power plant tenders to be held in the country.

A group of Turkish businessmen and executives of Turkey’s leading energy firms, led by the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s head Hasan Koktas, will attend the “Turkey-Syria International Energy Arena” meeting to be held in the Syrian capital of Damascus on March 17.

As part of their visit to Syria, the delegation will discuss the business opportunities between Turkey and Syria in trade of electricity, moreover, they will hold talks with officials from the Syrian electricity ministry concerning the tenders to be held on the construction of natural gas generation plants via build-operate-transfer model.

Energy investments, Syria’s employment potential, joint electricity generation projection between Turkey and Syria, as well as support to Syria’s reforms in electricity market will also be on the agenda of the “Turkey-Syria International Energy Arena” meeting, sources said.worldbulletin
