Swedish MP’s discussing the situation in Southern Azerbaijan

. | In question for Swedish FM, Ms. AMINEH KAKABAVEH asked the leader about the countries reaction to Iran’s behavior on human rights. She had touched several issues regarding the pressure over non-Fars ethnic groups and also the situation which Mrs. Golami is in.

Southern Azerbaijan which is occupied by Fars regime is under pressure. Azerbaijani people have their language banned from all stages of education, their cultural heritages are being destroyed and they have no right to protect themselves.
According BayBak, recently the regime of Iran has arrested many activists, including Shahnaz Gulami, mother of a 6 years old child. She is being held in custody for weeks and is not been allowed to have a lawyer, or even to contact her family. She is been tortured and been kept in a very bad condition.
A committee acting for her in Sweden had already made several contacts with politicians and human rights activists. They have been able to take the issue to Swedish parliament.

Swedish media, such as MANA and the parliament’s web site had covered Azerbaijani’s problem. There are several statements made and published by activists, both locally and nationally.
Azer Association and many others are working on behalf of Mrs. Gulami and also to raise attention to Azerbaijani’s daily life under occupation.
