Scientific Council of Muslims Department made a statement condemning the anti-Azerbaijani speech in Iran.
Recently, some religious leaders of Iran are doing anti-Azerbaijani statements, insult national symbols of Azerbaijan, and it has cause concern, the statement reads.
“This is a provocation against the statehood of Azerbaijan and is unacceptable. This is contrary to Islam religion, and it is an attempt to disrupt stability and bring discord in society,” said in a statement.
Iran which calls to Islamic solidarity forgets to show solidarity in the issue of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan. Moreover, Armenia receives regular help and support from Iran.
The authors of the statement call on the Iranian side to stop provocations and insults against Azerbaijan.
About 100 youth activists of various public political organizations hold an action of protest at 16:00 in front of Iranian embassy in Baku.
They chanted: “Shame on Iran”, “Iran sends to Azerbaijan drugs and terrorists”, “No mullahs- gay”, etc.
The youth was holding a photograph, which shows Ali Khamenei and Serzh Sarkisian, and expressed their indignation at Tehran’s policy towards Azerbaijan.
The police did not intervene in the course of action, and its participants dispersed peacefully.
Today’s event was a response to a protest in front of Azerbaijani consulate in Tabriz on May 8, which sounded offensive slogans against the country and its leadership. In particular, the young people called Ilham Aliyev a Zionist, and protested against the holding the “Eurovision†song contest in Baku.contact
