According to Focus, Roj TV known for its closeness to Kurdistan Workers’ Party /PKK/ has stopped broadcasting, Turkish Hurriyet daily writes on its Internet site.

The television channel was broadcasting from Denmark. Danish officials explain the channel stopped broadcasting on technical grounds despite the claims that this is a response to Turkey’s request. Roj TV was a reason for a big diplomatic scandal between Turkey and Denmark. For now Danish authorities refrain from speaking about the reasons for stopping the broadcast. Thus the television channel, known as the voice of PKK, will not be received in 78 countries. Owners of satellite antennas in Turkey, who received the broadcast, say the channel does not send a signal.

The scandal with Roj TV broke out also during the election of NATO Secretary General at the beginning of April. As a response to its support for the nomination of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen Turkey requested and was promised that the channel would stop broadcasting.
