Currently we are not in the position to discuss potential recipients of the prize. As stated on our website, there will soon be a press conference where the winner of the prize will be announced. As stated on the website of the prize, the recipient of the award is selected and endorsed by an academic award committee–we are the current coordinators of the prize but we are not ourselves involved in the academic selection process. At a more personal level, I would like to cite the description of the aims and focus of the prize as stated on our website:

The Global Dialogue Prize is awarded to recognize the relevance ofoutstanding intercultural research on values contributiong to globalcommunication and cooperation….
The Global Dialogue Prize is awarded in recognition of superior research in intercultural dialogue and value studies (by persons,institutions, or organizations), as well as outstanding achievements in applying such research to promote the goal of increasing intercultural understanding and competence.

In other words, the GDP is not handed out to honor a person, or a person’s life work, but to acknowledge the academic and practical significance of certain research efforts (or scholarly publications).
