. | 22 May 2006 was the day of uprising against decades of assimilation and discrimination of non-Fars nations in Iran. South Azerbaijanis came to streets and demanded equality and also an apology from the government. Shah and Islamic government both had followed a unique policy, Farsification of Iran where majority of the population is Azerbaijani Turks. Over 45,000,000 Azerbaijani Turks live in the country, mainly in North and Central regions. |

Tomorrow is the day when many activists are calling people to gather again, to remember the 22 May, and also to raise their voice to protect the Lake Urmu from being dried out intentionally by the government. Additional police forces, secret agents and also basij members been already deployed to Tabriz, Urmu and Tehran.
Lake Urmu is situated in North West of the country called Iran. The lake has an important role in regions and also the world ecology. It is the second largest salty water in the world and if it dies, a tsunami of salt will ruin the life of a large part of the Heart land. Azerbaijan could die from that tsunami, as other regions will also die.
