31st of December is Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis. This day is celebrated all around the globe by Azerbaijani Turks. Mr. Leysanli will receive 50 lashes tomorrow. It is another insult to Azerbaijanis on their national day.

31st of December is Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis. This day is celebrated all around the globe by Azerbaijani Turks.

Abbas Leysanli (Lesani) is an activist from Ardabil who is serving his jail sentence for nearly 18 month. He is charged for being involved in a rally condemning ban on Azerbaijanis mother language in Iran. He was the leader of a peaceful demonstration on May 2006 protesting against insult by Iranian official paper. The paper published a cartoon calling Azerbaijani Turks cockroaches!

Savvalansesi reports that Mr. Leysanli will receive 50 lashes tomorrow. It is another insult to Azerbaijanis on their national day.
