The fast of Ramadan has both spiritual significance and physical effects. In addition to the basic requirements of the fast, there are additional and recommended practices in order to gain the most benefit from the experience.
The first verses of the Qu’ran were revealed during the month of Ramadan, and the very first word was: “Read!” During the month of Ramadan, as well as other times during the year, Muslims are encouraged to read and reflect on God’s guidance.
At the end of the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world enjoy a 3-day holiday known as “Eid al-Fitr” (Festival of Fast-Breaking).
Remind that, Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the chairman of Caucasus Muslims Office has congratulated all Muslims upon the Holly Ramadan. He wished all fasting and prayers to be accepted by Almighty Allah.
The Holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, believed to be the time the Koran was revealed to the prophet Mohammed. For approximately 30 days, observant Muslims abstain from all food and drink during daylight hours.
It is the Islamic month of fasting (sawm), in which participating Muslims do not eat or drink anything from true dawn until sunset. Fasting is meant to teach the person patience, sacrifice and humility. Ramadan is a time to fast for the sake of God, and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance into the future, ask for help in refraining from everyday evils and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.ans
