Mexico recognizes Khojaly Genocide commited by Armenians against Azerbaijanis

The Mexican Senate has passed a decision consisting of articles of agreement on Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, news.az reported.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the decision says that on 26 February 1992, troops belonging to the Armenian armed forces launched attacks on Khojaly civilians in Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region and claimed lives of hundreds of people mainly for ethnicity which was, without hesitation, called as genocide by international human rights organizations.
The decision also deals with the settlement process of Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagonro-Karabakh conflict, Madrid principles and notes the importance of returning IDPs and refugees to their homelands occupied by Armenia.
The decision reads:
The Chamber of MPs, respecting sovereignty of Azerbaijani and Armenian nations, calls on Azerbaijani and Armenian governments to increase efforts and OSCE Minsk co-chairmen to show required support to both countries for resolving the conflict in a peaceful way and reach a treaty that will put a permanent end to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh region rapidly and within a short period of time;
Though 19 years have passed since Khojaly massacre and the fact that victims of the massacre haven’t yet reached justice shows that a central element for possible peace agreement should be shortly formed, communications among people should be recovered and harmony should be created between the two nations as soon as possible.ann
