“Over the past year three serious attacks were thwarted that were on the verge of being carried out,” the head of the Israel’s Shin Bet security service Yoram Cohen Shin Bet told audience at a closed forum in Tel Aviv.
“In Turkey against the general consul in Istanbul; in Baku, Azerbaijan; and two weeks ago in Thailandâ€, said Shin Bet chief. Cohen spoke about the security in Israel, Middle East problem and unstable situation in the region, APA reports quoting Haaretz newspaper.
Recently Azerbaijan’s Ministry of National Security issued a statement on reveal of a terrorist attempt and the arrest of the country’s citizens Rasim Aliyev and Ali Huseynov, who are charged with the attempts to kill foreign public figures. Those persons were reportedly guided by an instruction from Iran.
