French authorities have detained one of the leading figures of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), news reports said yesterday. Nedim Seven is a senior member of the terrorist group and in charge of financing its activities.
He was arrested in Rome in October while trying to depart for Armenia with a fake passport and had been released pending trial on charges of providing financial resources to the terrorist organization. He has now been arrested again for failing to observe the conditions of his release.
Seven had previously been arrested in France with 15 other PKK members, including Rıza Altun, in February of last year for suspected “terrorist” activities. He was released on Feb. 23, 2007. He had also been arrested at the end of 2006 in the Netherlands during a routine security check.
Yet authorities later released 12 of the suspects under conditional discharge, meaning that they would not be sentenced for their first offense unless they committed a further offense within a stated period. Altun, the chief organizer of the PKK’s European activities, and Seven, a key PKK financier — were released.
In addition, Dutch authorities detained Seven in August 2006 — together with the earlier November 2004 crackdown on a PKK training camp in Boxtel. The arrest created hope of permanent and widespread Dutch cooperation against the terrorist group. However, Dutch authorities released Seven two months later, declining an extradition request by Turkish authorities.

It is going to be another conflict in region; in fact, it may result in more loose of lands for Azerbaijan.
