Finland to hand over OSCE chairmanship to Greece

Foreign Minister of Spain Miguel Angel Moratinos made statement on chairmanship period to OSCE in 2007, APA’s correspondent sent to Madrid reports.
Mr. Moratinos said that Spain handed over OSCE chairmanship to Finland in 2008, Greece will chair OSCE in 2009, Kazakhstan in 2010, Lithuania 2011.
Mr. Moratinos especially underlined activity of OSCE mission in Central Asia, Caucasus and Balkans. OSCE former chairman touching upon Nagorno Karabakh settlement expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers, as well as Minsk Group co-chairs for active cooperation.
Mr. Moratinos held press conference for journalists later on and said that 2007 was very active year.
“We achieved progress in several ecological and humanitarian projects, fighting against terrorism. To my regret, we could not adopt political declaration, but it does not happen for the first time,†he said.
Former chairman said that it is necessary to prolong OSCE mandate in Kosovo.
“This issue will be probably solved by year end,†he said.apa
