The explosion took place this morning in a 5 story building next door to the Sisecam Factory. 17 were killed and 40 were injured. Rescue workers and security officials are working recovering people from the building. Fire and rescue squads were sent to the explosion site.

An explosion has taken place at a factory in Istanbul’s Davutpasa district, APA Turkey bureau reports

The explosion took place this morning in a 5 story building next door to the Sisecam Factory. 17 were killed and 40 were injured. Rescue workers and security officials are working recovering people from the building. Fire and rescue squads were sent to the explosion site.

Azerbaijani consul to Turkey Sayyad Salahli told the APA that they have not yet learned whether there are Azerbaijanis among the injured and death. Investigation is underway.
