US President Barack Obama’s speech on April 24 has also been on Erdoğan’s agenda during his speech.

Erdoğan said Barack Obama voiced some unacceptable accusations regarding the incidents although to some extent he took into consideration Turkey’s sensitivity.

Erdoğan said: “From the very beginning, we stress that the matter should be discussed by historians; unfortunately, there are some third parties who try to take advantage of the situation in their inner politics. This attitude has a negative effect on both Turkey and positive steps taken in the normalization of affairs with Armenia. We wish those negative stances be left aside immediately. Turkey is quite discontent with such insincere and ambivalent attitudes of countries that she sees close to herself.”trt
