Hosting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Ankara, Turkey has made significant progress in relations with Russia.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan welcomed his Russian counterpart, and the two premiers had a meeting of three hours, which was later attended by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Turkey and Russia inked cooperation protocols in 20 different fields.
Stating that the Turkish side was a hard bargainer, Russian Premier Putin said that they still agreed on every issue.
According to the deal made, Turkey is entitled to sell gas over the Blue Stream line to the third parties and Russia will supply oil to the Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline while Turkey will extend the natural gas agreement with Russia, which is due to end in 2011.
Another issue that the two sides agreed on is that Turkey allowed Russia to make researches in the Turkish territorial waters under the South Stream-2 Project.
Following the press conference, Turkish Prime Minister ErdoÄŸan called his Italian counterpart Berlusconi next to them and the three premiers shook hands.
Putin was later received by President Abdullah Gul at the Presidential Palace.
