To: Director of the Broadcasting Board of Governors

We know the United States of America as a country that protects the democratic values and a shield built before the censorship and the enemies of freedom by allotting various budgets each year aiming at spreading out of democratic values all over the world.
But the Persian section of the “Voice of America” broadcasted at the expenses of taxes levied from the American citizens, being became the centre of Persian racists feels hostility towards other nations exposed to oppressions upon meeting news pertained to non-Persian nations with censor.
We were witness of the widest censor in the field of elucidation of the activities of the Azerbaijani activists elucidation their activity in the political and cultural areas besides the other non-Persian nations residing in Iran. One of the actual and important problems of Iran is preventing the spreading out of democratic struggle of non-Persian nations that creates such an impression though the “American Voice” is governed by the Persian racists.

“American Voice” pretends

Spreading out accurate, operative, impartial and informtive news is considered one of the most important purposes of the “American Voice” as per the professional journalist values recognized all over the world.
We have always preferred to feel respect towards all audiences and their interests. It is to be noted that the creative and other skills of our employees are playing an important part in realization of the audience’s desires. That is, we feel always deep respects towards the audience’s wishes and it is our manifesto.
The main mass of our broadcasting resides in Iran, but the Persian News Channel of the “American Voice” is paying an important attention to interests and needs of peoples speaking Persian language residing in other countries.

The broadcast program “Do Ruze Avval – the first two days” is pretending:

The broadcast “The First Two Days” as an informative and impartial program hopes for strengthening of a general dialogue on Iran’s pressing problems via seeking various looks and voices in Iran and is embracing the widest themes from politics and economics to literature and history.

“The First Two Days” will work hard to explain the decisions and policies of the US to the Iranian audience and spectator; at the same time, preparation of interviews of various culture and fine arts figures and their presentation as independent broadcast are not excluded.
But, despite all these pretensions, in the program of 12.12.2009 Mr. Hamid Ahmadi and Mehra Maleki have showed zeal to analyze tendentiously the very important historical event for all Azerbaijani Turks “21 azer” at the program “21 azer as a salvation day of Azerbaijan”.
This program of the radio “Voice of America” may be characterized by on purpose presenter’s meddling in, who is Ferhadi and his belligerent attitude towards the audiences who call up the program via phone, simulation the essence of all historical events – all this has recalled the broadcasting methods known in Iran Islamic Republic.

The fact that persons employed for propagandizing the democratic and human values are disrespectful towards human rights is expressing deep regret.

We, the persons signing this letter herewith express our remonstrance against the presenters and transmission of “the Voice of America” spread out in Persian language. And hereby we would like to as the guidance of the “American Voice” to be faithful to values announced regarding the democratization of the Persian sector of this transmission, be impartial and professional and to be attentive towards the desires of the audience.

Sincerely,
