The 10th meeting of the World Azerbaijanis’ Congress ended in Cologne, Germany. Head of Azerbaijani representation of the congress Ismayil Agayev told APA that the meeting was held on June 6-8. National rights of the Azerbaijanis living in Iran, bloody events occurred in the cities of Iran settled by Azerbaijanis in May 2006, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan People’s Republic and state of Azerbaijani Diaspora were discussed on the first day of the meeting.
Organizational issues of the World Azerbaijanis’ Congress were considered on the last of the meeting. Ismayil Agayev said that some amendments had been made to the statute of the organization. Co-chairmanship Institute was established in the congress – Sabir Rustamkhanli and Firudin Pervizniya were elected co-chairs of World Azerbaijanis’ Congress. 17-men Management Board (8 from South Azerbaijan, 1 from Turkey, 4 from CIS countries, 5 from Azerbaijan) and 50-member Consulting Council were set up. Statement on Karabakh conflict and rights of the Azerbaijanis living in Iran was adopted at the meeting.apa
