At least 12 people are feared dead in a suspected car bombing at the police headquarters in the Pakistani capital.
Thursday’s blast comes less than three weeks after more than 50 people were killed when a bomber detonated a lorry full of explosives at the Marriott hotel in Islamabad.
Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder reported that the area attacked on Thursday, on the outskirts of Islamabad, is controlled by the police and it is not possible to give exact numbers of casualties.

Members of the Pakistan parliament are being given a briefing by military officials on the domestic threat posed by al-Qaeda and the Taliban as well as unrest in the tribal regions.
