Azerbaijani President: We never made mistake in our energy policy

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech at the plenary meeting on Energy Security, Markets, Capital Investment and National Interests.
He briefed the participants about economic reforms in his country and added that Azerbaijan has gained great achievements in energy sector.
“We have reached our targets. We were not alone, we were together with international companies, energy producing and energy transporting countries,” he said.
Reminding his country’s supplying natural gas to Georgia, Mr. Aliyev regarded security of neighbors as security of Azerbaijan.
He noted that the security of Azerbaijan is also important for neighbors.
Azeri President stressed that Azerbaijan is the fastest growing economy in the world.
“When we started to lay Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, some used to say that project would not be prospective and there would not be enough oil to pump via. Their predictions ended in a fiasco, Azerbaijan has 9 billion barrels of oil today. Shah Deniz gas and condensate field holds 1.3 trillion cubic meters of natural gas in reserve. We have to date never made mistake in anything, never in the energy policy,” he underscored.
Mr. Aliyev gave information about decisions made at Krakow Energy Summit and GUAM Baku Summit and stressed that all these events serve good cooperation of nations of Caspian, Baltic and Black Seas.
He added that Azerbaijan intends to pump petrodollars into non-oil sector for balanced growth. He concluded that Azerbaijan has taken measures to ensure transparency of oil revenues and established State Oil Fund to efficiently use incomes.apa
