Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Organized Crimes and local police carried out an operation in Azerbaijani region Jalilabad on November 4 at about 01.00. Chief of Jalilabad region Police Office, Colonel Rasim Musayev told APA that an organized gang that trespassed from Iran on Azerbaijan, was neutralized while selling drugs in Shatirli settlement of Jalilabad region.
The armed smugglers and the police exchanged fire. Officer of Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Organized Crimes, colonel-lieutenant Namig Musayev was killed. The police managed to neutralize the criminals. An Iranian and an Azerbaijani were detained during the operation, 6kg drugs were confiscated.
General Prosecutor’s Office Department of Investigation of Grave Crimes launched criminal case.
The police chief said his deceased colleague will be buried in Baku.apa
