Azerbaijani and Kazakh Presidents support trade turnover between two countries reach to $1 billion

We are not satisfied with the current trade turnover of $300 million between the two countries. I am sure that implementation of the plans that the intergovernmental commission intends will lead to the rise of this amount.

Mr. Mr.Nazarbayev stressing that Kazakhstan would be interesting for Azerbaijan as a transit country said that economic-trade relations between the two countries should be developed not only in traditional fields, but also in Azerbaijan’s exporting fruit and vegetable to Kazakhstan and in the construction of large-tonnage oil tankers in Baku.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed preparedness of Azerbaijan to ensure transfer of Kazakhs goods through its territory without obstacles.
“Transport-energy projects that are connecting us, of course, are in the first plan of our relationships. Azerbaijan will do its best to ensure transportation of energy resources and goods freely, without obstacles. We are ready to work jointly in transporting Kazakh energy resources to Europe and world markets through Azerbaijan,” President Aliyev said.
Azerbaijani President said Azerbaijan is possessing the most up-to-date energy and transport infrastructure. According to him, Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey railway connection will provide an opportunity to transport goods to Europe, and Kazakhstan can use this transport corridor. The head of state reminded an intergovernmental agreement was concluded on Kazakhstan’s joining the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline during the Presidents’ meeting in Almaty last year.
