. | 9th of December Vancouver in Canada hosted a joint campaign by Association for the Defence of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners in Iran (ADAPP) and Amnesty International. In that campaign information about harsh oppression of Iranian government on Azerbaijan and its national activists were distributed to visitors.

9th of December Vancouver in Canada hosted a joint campaign by Association for the Defence of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners in Iran (ADAPP) and Amnesty International. In that campaign information about harsh oppression of Iranian government on Azerbaijan and its national activists were distributed to visitors.
According to report received by BayBak, visitors and organisers signed a statement asking Iranian justice minister Mr. Sadeq Larijani to stop the violence against Azerbaijanis, especially Said Matinpur who is being kept in Evin prison under a very bad condition.
The statement also reminds that Azerbaijanis are the majority in Iran and their identity and language must be recognised officially. At the moment Azerbaijani Turkish is banned and most of the nationalists are convicted of complaining about the discrimination. Azerbaijani National Movement (ANM) wants Azerbaijanis benefit from international law on self determination and national rights.
