He is one well-known leaders of National Movement in South Azerbaijan. He was arrested by armed forces while resting at home with his family. After that he is under pressure to sign a statement made by Iranian authority and stop his activities as an Azerbaijani human rights defender. He has published books and a calendar in Turkish, he joined people when gathering in Baybak Castle to celebrate the Azerbaijani hero’s birth day. Those actions made him to be a wanted person by Islamic government of Iran.

Abbas Lisani an Azerbaijani activist who is serving 2 years imprisonment for his activities as a poet and human rights activists said: “I will start hunger strike, I do not accept the condition of the prison which is specially modified to torture and discriminate myself.”
