At 12:49pm EDT, those listening carefully could hear Phillips praise her husband:

Phillips: “Yeah, I’m very lucky in that regard … watch the video

Incommunicado detention/ Fear of torture/ Medical concern new concern: Prisoner of Conscience IRAN Abbas Lisani (or Leysani), (m) aged 38, activist
Tuesday 19 September 2006

Prisoner of conscience Abbas Lisani is detained in Ardebil Prison in the north-west of Iran. He has received a one-year prison sentence for “spreading anti-government propaganda”, and faces other trials apparently related to his peaceful political and cultural activities on behalf of the Iranian Azerbaijani minority community. He is reportedly in poor health.

Abbas Lisani was arrested on 3 June 2006, shortly after participating in a demonstration in Ardebil on 27 May. He was held detained for about two days in a detention facility run by the Ministry of Intelligence in Ardebil, before being transferred to Ardebil prison. Can Hamas come in from the cold?
Friday 15 September 2006

The judge said that the fact that the Israeli authorities had allowed the defendants to participate in elections suggested that they did not pose a danger sufficient enough to warrant arrest.

The seizure of almost the whole of Hamas’s political leadership in the West Bank came in the aftermath of the group’s capture of an Israeli soldier, Corporal Gilad Shalit, on Gaza’s border in late June.

There has been no comment on the action from the accused.
